Tutor.com - www.tutor.com
Presented by: Susan Del Rosario

It is well known that the level and quality of education affects both an individual’s quality of life and the overall strength of a community. Studies have linked education to earning potential, employment, crime statistics and even overall health. Communities with good schools are more likely to attract business, have a lower unemployment rate, higher average household income and thus a higher tax base with which to build even better schools, parks, museums and of course, libraries. It all comes full circle because libraries play a critical role in providing equal access to educational support in their communities. Tutor.com has recently completed a pilot program with the Tennessee State Library and Archives, providing online tutoring through four public libraries, providing an extra connection to the local schools. This presentation will discuss the TutorTN pilot program, results and how a similar program in your library would benefit your community.

Donations/Door prizes: Tutor.com will give away tote bags with pens and information packets to those that attend our presentation.
