Tenn-Share has a new partner for the Firefly Courier service
Beginning on July 1, 2015, deliveries and pick-ups for the 209 Firefly Tenn-Share member libraries will be handled by Expak Logistics. Expak Logistics is a respected national third party logistics company with years of experience in library exchange.
On June 30, 2015, Tenn-Share says thank you to the RR Donnelley, the vendor currently operating the Firefly courier for 208 public and academic libraries across Tennessee, including public libraries in the Tennessee State Library and Archives system. Since July 2012, RR Donnelley has transported more than 100,000 books, DVDs, Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) materials, etc., across the state. We appreciate the service that RR Donnelley has given Tenn-Share over the last three years.
Beginning on July 1, 2015, deliveries and pick-ups for the 209 Firefly Tenn-Share member libraries (Welcome Memphis Public Library and Information Center!) will be handled by Expak Logistics. Steve Schmidt, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Expak, says, "We are so excited to have this contract, and to have another opportunity to serve a library community. We and our partners are committed to timely and correct deliveries across the 200+ libraries in Tennessee, and look forward to other libraries in the state joining Firefly."
Expak Logistics is a respected national third party logistics company with years of experience in library exchange. Expak has previously been contracted with the Tex-Share library consortium providing coverage over Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, and with the Orbis consortium providing coverage in Oregon and Washington. This is a three year contract.
