Tennessee is now a hub of the Digital Public Library of America
Tennessee joins Maryland, Maine and the Caribbean as the newest service hubs of the Digital Public Library of America. Tenn-Share is proud to join the partnership with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Tennessee State Library and Archives. Our thanks to all of the staff at many libraries across the state for their efforts to submit what became a successful application. Tenn-Share's Digital Library of Tennessee Committee will be led by Chair Carolyn Runyon, Digital Archivist, Special Collections & University Archives, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
From the DPLA press release, "Tennessee plans to make available important material on the Civil Rights Movement, and Appalachia and the Great Smoky Mountains." Tenn-Share looks forward to seeing images from Volunteer Voices and other collections from libraries that will bring the culture and history of Tennessee to the world.
