Stimulus Funds for Broadband - July Update

More News from Tenn-Share VP Tricia Bengel of Nashville Public Library,

The Broadband Stimulus rules were released on July 2, so it is now possible for the State to start writing the grant proposal for libraries. The first round of grant applications must be submitted between July 14 and August 14 and the Library Stakeholders want to be part of that window. Arnie Reed, Consultant, Economic Analysis & Policy Division of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, with Jeanne Sugg and Jane Pinkston of the Tennessee State Library and Archives and representatives from the four Metro libraries are working with Theresa Pepin, Science Alliance, University of Tennessee/Knoxville-Oak Ridge National Laboratory TARRABTOP Initiative, to put together a grant package for public libraries both rural and urban.

More details to come as they unfold!
